Hitting The Wall

Today I have given up. Tomorrow will be, I guess, another day. I imagine it’ll be different.

But after spending nearly six hours yesterday pretty much entirely in pursuit of a car to borrow (that is, that was mostly commute time, plus delays at the place, etc.), today was 7 hours of sitting, waiting in a hospital.

I’ve committed, it struck me for the first time today, to being the primary caregiver for this person, no matter how well he walks up and down the stairs, for the rest of my life. I’m not, I think, going to do that.

Tomorrow, again, it’ll probably be better. Although I can’t help being cynical about everything, including proverbs.

Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll expect you to drive him to the fishing hole and wait while the fish bites and then clean it and cook it and I don’t think so.
